North East Vietnam Motorbike Tours – 8 Days

All bikers will meet up at Motorcyclist Tours’ workshop to get bikes and riding gears. Well preparing is in need for all situations on an adventure tour. You will bring along enough clothes, rain gears, medicine, cameras… Your guide prepares pharmacy kit and fixing tools. He also equips for you riding tips how to behave to the crazy traffic in Vietnam.
We will choose the easiest way to get out of Hanoi with less vehicles and more scenery by the Red River. Only 20 minutes we escape the noise of Hanoi heading to the nature. After nice lunch on the way, we will decide off-road or on-road to get Vu Linh – a Village of White Dao ethnic group under the Palm trees where we will stay overnight.
Try to arrive around 3 pm and take a small boat trip go swimming in the man-made lake or walking around the village to see the local life.
Nice dinner with local dished cooked by family will be ready when you come back from walking or boating trip. The host would welcome us with home-made corn wine and cheers with us till we get drunk.

One of the most interesting things in Vu Linh is waking up early in the morning to feel the natural atmosphere surround you. After breakfast with home-made pan cake and coffee, we leave for Ha Giang-a big mountain City Up North of Vietnam before discovering Dong Van Plateau Geopark. We ride few km along the shore of Thac Ba Lake then take to some turns to hidden zig zag roads among mountains. Our guides will take care of you to make sure no one get lost in the forest. Riding over the mountains, crossing the rivers from this village to another we will arrive Ha Giang City about 5 Pm without puncture or falling off. Check in hotel or homestay as you wish, have bath and relax while our guides check all our iron horse for good condition.

We have chance to practice our riding skill today as the high of the roads is going very steep up and down. There are many sharp turn up and blind turns down make us fun or scary as well as the option of the ways to get Dong Van. In order to enjoy the incredibly amazing scenery of Ha Giang then the Easy Rider Tours just stay on main road. For Enduro Rider Tours seem not enough end scenery is not everything. You prefer to be in the dirt tracks, steep and small just for buffalos and there is no roads or bridges. The only way to get over the rivers is by bamboo rafts.
Many tourist attractions on the way to Dong Van that we should not skip such as Quan Ba Heaven Gate, Yen Minh Pine Forest, Vuong’s Family Villas, Lung Cu Flag Tower, Sa Phin Market. We may stop more on the high passes for stunning pictures.
Possibly, you design your tour in advance for staying in Dong Van right on Saturday in order to attend Dong Van Market on Sunday ‘cause it cannot be missed once you travel to Dong Van.

Sunday Market in Dong Van is a cultural center of the region. We wake up early, having breakfast at the hotel or try local food right in the Market. Feel free to take photos and or cheering with local people is a good way to make friend with them. We spend about 2 hours in Dong Van Market then come back our hotel preparing to go on the trip.
Hit the road again, the paths in Dong Van Geopark would make us infatuated as we don’t want to leave. Ma Pi Leng high pass is in front of looks like a long giant snake lying on the mountains. From the pass, we can imagine how we are such small to nature.
After lunch in Meo Vac, we will cross the river by bamboo raft to get other side is Bao Lac. Many villages of ethnic people we can stop over, taking photos or visiting a family to understand how they live.
Arrive Bao Lac about 5 pm, we get the room and refresh to get back all energy for the next day to Cao Bang.

Continue the journey discovering North East loop of Vietnam, we are heading to Cao Bang. The land where beginning of Viet Minh Revolution. There are many historical sites with its stories during the War between Vietnam and French, American, Chinese. We have breakfast with local food and fill up the tanks, then we heading to short way avoiding the main busy road. A lot of options about hard level for you to choose, if you don’t want to be dirty like water buffalos then stay safe on main road.
When we finish playing on the road, we will visit Pac Bo complex where Ho Chi Minh used to stay for the first days of Revolution. Such a beautiful palace with its landscape, blue water from mountain worth for us to stop over.
Finally, we drive along the forgotten road get back to Cao Bang city, stay at hotel relax for the next big day tomorrow.

Riding only 150 km today is a piece of cake. But today, we would have a big easy relaxing riding day. Not chasing time, many incredible things we should not skip them. Along the way to Ban Gioc Water fall, we will ride follow the river which is blue during the year, checking out some villages located near the border with China where has spectacular scenery. The fabulous Ban Gioc Water Fall is so close to us. Just few more kilometers of riding we will arrive where we excited heading to. The fall appears highly and majestically located between 2 countries Vietnam and China. Stopping here for picnic lunch is not bad idear. Besides, there is rafting boat service is available as you really want to come closer the stream.
We spend 2 hours in Ban Gioc Water Fall then move to Nguom Ngao Cave nearby which was created by nature inside a granite stone mountain. Stalactites inside the cave has thousand different shape and twinkle as we shine them with a torch.
Finally, we ride back Quang Uyen as a loop to stay at a homestay of Nung Na ethnic group, enjoy home cooked dishes prepared by host Lady.

Another riding day will be started with a lovely meal with banana pan cake, honey and Vietnamese coffee. The family which we are staying working as blacksmith, we will understand how a knife from truck spring leaf is made. We later have a little walk to a nearby local market where they are selling agriculture products.
Get the bike and hit the road again, we will follow to the green small lovely dirt tracks to play. Meeting point for lunch in That Khe mountain town 70 km from Quang Uyen. The town which was destroyed by Chinese with many other one along the border line during the 1979 Sino-Vietnamese bloody War.
Finish our lunch, we continue riding avoid the main boring highway to villages, arrive hotel in Lang Son City by 5 pm. Refresh, dinner, relax or we can go shopping at free tax night market right in the City.

The traffic seems more and more busy from Lang Son to Hanoi. We will try to avoid as much as possible until we cannot. Heading to the original highway No 1 before lunch time, we will visit the old ancient devil gate where Vietnamese fought against Chinese invaders.
It’s a pity when we are going to finish our short 8 days North West Vietnam Motorbike tour soon. We are getting close to crazy Hanoi and be back in our boring office missing our nice emotion. Be safe and try not to be lost in the busy traffic in the end of the tour. We will arrive workshop about 3 pm, refreshing with some cold Vietnamese Beer before our farewell.
